Hey all,

I thought i'd update those who were interested regarding the status of
Trees, my '91 red with dual black stripes.  She was finally adopted last week.

isn't it goofy that we can get so attached to a car?  i always joked about
getting emotional when i said goodbye to her but i never thought i actually
would....until i saw her drive off.

I wish i could afford both a '99 and my '91 but insurance dictates that
they must do something silly like charge me a higher premium, as if i could
drive them both at the same time or something. (i'm just being silly here)
regardless, i just can't afford to keep them both.

Trees was adopted by a local Austinite....well, almost local.  a friend
here locally has a brother in Alabama who was looking for his first miata
and she recommended mine.  he took one look and had to have her.  i
couldn't be happier because its going to a family that now owns 5 Miatas, i
believe.  I also know that she'll be used for autocrossing! woo!  i'm so
excited.

anyhow, she came to pick her up last week and it was so difficult to let go
of the keys.  
i'd never let anyone else ever drive her except for maybe a few miles and
she was always in my supervision except when Chris needed a car when his
was in the shop that one day.   

i have dozens of pictures of the car but i'll never hear her exhaust note
again.  i even have a t-shirt and sweatshirt with her on the front just
like new mothers and fathers with their newborn baby printed on it that
says "Daddy's Baby"

so i just gave her a final hug and let her go.
megabummer.
yes, i have a new '99, Simunye, and she's incredible, and i even think
*she* was saddened to see her sister wave goodbye with those popup headlamps.

old memories will live in pictures and stories of drives.
new memories will be made for the next generation.
