Um,

That's because the 95M doesn't /have/ headrest speakers.

Sorry, but the Merlot is not able to take HR speakers due to the design of the
headrests.  The low back seats with detached headrests don't allow for wiring the
speakers.  I don't know if others have tried to modify the headrest, but it isn't
the simple plug-in that the rest of us enjoy.

The reason the harness is under the seat is probably because Mazda didn't care what
seat went in the car when they laid the wires.
