Jeannie's post reminded me of something that I had to post here regarding
something said about my car, which I think is a pretty neat complement for
a Miata...any car for that matter.

I recently stopped by a local parts shop that I've been dealing with for
years on Redline, Bosch, etc... While talking with the owner (a big BMW
nut) prior to the install of the Bell, he mentioned that he'd never had a
ride or driven a Miata yet (where the hell has he been???). I offered to
drop by after the turbo and clutch were broken in and do the honours.

Fred's very used to high performance cars though, as he's been road racing
and now vintage races a 2002 Tii, so his comment kind of struck me.

Pulling out of the lot, onto a fairly busy four lane road, I punched the
throttle. Two trails of rubber behind and a car coming up very quickly
infront. I merely swerved left, kept accelerating, swerved right, then
made a quick right turn off onto another road in a merge lane, and kept
right on going. After a second or two, all I got out of him was:

"Man, it's like a video game! Seeing the world go by so quickly and
zipping past cars like they're standing still. It can't be real!"

I still smile at that one.
