As I was putting my photos from the Paris event, I was thinking it would
be great if we could all swap photos and put them on a CD for all of us
to enjoy. So, let's do it!

Send me your favorite shots, your best shots, and a few others and I'll
combine yours, mine, and everyone else's and put them on a CD for a
reasonable price-- less than the price of a 36-exposure roll of print
film and the processing! If you have a scanner, scan them and send them
to me on diskette or via email. Otherwise, mail me *copies* of your
prints and I'll scan them for you (and return the prints, if you
wish). (And, if you sent prints, put your name on the back of them
using a *Sharpie ultra-fine point* pen or some other photo pen-- don't
use a ball-point pen or pencil!)

If you are scanning your own, scan them at 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768
resolution, 16 million colors, and save them in JPEG (or JPG) format.
Put them on a 3.5" IBM format diskette (1.44Mb or 720k) and mail them to
me. Don't send small scans or low color depth scans, since they won't
look that good compared to the others. Saving them as JPEGs saves a lot
of disk space. A 1024 x 768, 16 million color scan stored as a JPEG
typically consumes only 200 - 300k, so a few scans will fit on one disk.

Send your scans on disk or your photos to:

Miata Paris '98 CD
Richard Teasdale
P.O. Box 50964
Provo, UT 84605-0964

The Photo Album CD will sell for $15.00 (US) plus shipping. Send a
check for the total amount to the same address.

Shipping charges are as follows:

$3.50 (US) for 1 to 3 CDs when shipped together to the same address.
$7.00 (US) for 4 to 6 CDs when shipped together to the same address.

We can get as many as 2,000 or more pictures on one CD! Of course, this
will only be fun if a lot of you send me your pictures. Send pictures
of your car, other cars, the sites and the sights, the people, etc. If
you send pictures of people, indicate who they are if you know. I have
pictures of several of the better-known attendees such as Ronald van
Kelst, Dave DeNuzzo, and others. But you might have pictures of people
I didn't photograph, or you may know who some of the people are that I
don't know.

If you have any questions about this project, either relating to
pictures to send or questions about the final product, feel free to
email me at rjt@xmission.com or snail-mail me at the address above.

And, for those of you who are aware of the problems we ran into last
year with the calendars, I already have all of the equipment and
software I need to complete this project, regardless of how many CDs are
ordered. The variable is how many pictures will be on the CD.

So send me your scans or your prints. Let's make this a great way to
remember the best international Miata event to date. Thanks again to
Ronald for all his efforts that made this such a successful event.

I'll put a website together as soon as possible detailing all of this
and additional information. If you have any ideas or suggestions that I
haven't covered here, let me know!
