OK, an update: People emailed me saying "What Texas emissions inspection?"
The deal is this: There is an emissions inspection done on all cars
registered in Dallas, Tarrant, Harris and El Paso counties and nowhere
else. This costs an extra $13 at inspection time and is QUITE thorough!
This is good news for me, though, since I just bought a new house and I'm
moving out of the county this month. I just have to reregister the car and
don't have to do an emissions inspection.
I would still like to fix the problem, though. What is the emissions
warranty time? And does this sound like plugs/wires or something more
serious? I'll replace the plugs and wires anyway (on principle) but I
wonder what is causing my Miata to be such a hog...
