Yes, this book has a lot of good information but is lacking quite a bit in
some areas. (Look up air conditioning for example)  It does a better job of
explaining most procedures than the shop manual does, but I still consider
it a supplement to the factory manual.

Every Haynes or Chilton manual I have ever owned lacked some piece of
information or other I needed that was available from the 'official' service
manual.   I know the genuine manuals are expensive, but they have always
been well worth it for me.
