Alex,
You might consider trying what I did with my tonneau when first, one of the
tabs separated and later, the other one went south. I had no idea how long
the first one had been gone. I'll inform you now that I live in SoCal. where,
until this year, it never rains, and my top is "always" down and the tonneau
is "always" in place. I figured that since the first one wasn't noticed that
I might as well see if the second one would be missed. It wasn't and I used
that tonneau for the next 5 yrs without ever using the snaps.
That tonneau finally got entirely too many holes in it and looked entirely too
ratty and I replaced it with a very slightly used tan one. Guess what? The
tabs for the fasteners were sewn in on the wrong sides. The left one should
have been on the right side and vice versa. So I can't use the tabs on the
new tonneau either and don't miss them at all.
