Quite possible. I've learned from a trusted tire technician that the belts
often separate internally after a trauma with no outward sign....it could lead
to the problems you describe. I think it happened to me before--- but I got a
set of new tires shortly thereafter rather than bother having the one checked
for a belt problem.
