Been off the list for a few and wow, I should have unsubscribed!
Recently went up to Minden Nev. and took Hyw. 4 over Ebbetts pass.
Awesome road and still tons of snow! Won some bank playing poker, then
lost it over the next few nights.
Sat. went up to see the Virginia City Hill Climb. See Doug
Hyashi's web page: http://nsxfiles.com There was a mixup with the
weekend they were running it, so I missed it. They ran it the weekend
before, which bummed me out. The Ferrari club runs it again in Sept.,
so I may take another trip up to see that one. I knew once we got on
hyw 341 which is closed for the event that we had missed it. Kinda
hard to miss the black rubber line laid out by the sticky racing
rubber.
After picking up our family's '64 V.W. Bug on Sun. which had
expired on the way up Thur. (wheel bearing seized) we headed down into
the Big Valley and home.
Heading south on Jack Tone Rd I see in the distance a Laguna Blue
with a yellow "MIATA NET" windshield banner. Dennis and Am Fear Gorm
where headed in the opposite direction. Small world. Dennis lives in
Murphys, up Hyw. 4 and a great drive also. Quick wave and a mutual
toot on the CRI is all I could manage. HI Dennis!
This Fri. the wife and I are having diner at Diablo Grande. This
is a huge development backed by Don Panoz. Yup. That Panoz. Chateau
Elan in Georgia is the prototype for Diablo Grande. Anyone with some
idea on the Geogia local? I heard it is quite the site. The best
thing is I am scoping Diablo Grande out for a Miata run as it is at the
end of my fav. run which is Mt. Hamilton. I'll let everyone interested
know what I dig up from this recon. mission.
Thanks for listening, err reading!
