I don't know if this is a list-approved-method and *calibration* maybe I
used the wrong words... let me explain... I changed my gauges with
white faced ones and that required removing the indicators (the needles,
whatever the stupid things that move around indicating speed and rpm and
stuff are called) so when I put them back I obviously needed to set them
right... first I went on '95 and did
1 mile with cruise control and checked with a stopwatch to see pretty
much how fast I was going... so I put the needle on at about the correct
speed (while still in cruise control at that same speed)... then I
fine-tuned it by doing 10 mile runs (checked with both odometer and mile
markers) at 60 mph constant, 70 mph constant, 80 mph constant and 40 mph
constant and moved the needle so that everything matched up perfectly...
then I went on a road that has a divider and no entrances (and therefore
doesn't allow tax-collectors to make a u-turn to come catch you... BTW
for the south floridians... Sheridan St. in Pembroke Pines all the way
out in the Douglas - Flamingo area) and did 1 mile at 90 then 100 then
110 and it all checked fine.
Finally I asked a friend tax collector to gun me at different speeds in
a parking lot... cruise control again... my reading was within a mile or
so of the radar.
The RPM thing I set so that the limiter is just less than a quarter of
an inch into the red zone and idle is just below 1000 RPM...
Gas is still messed up... but it's on the better safe than sorry side
Temp is just past middle when at temperature
Oil's fake so who cares.
