My understanding is Torsen delivers power *better*, but no, your non LSD
'97 did not have power going only to one wheel... it had a differential
that distributed power to both wheels, just not a LSD diff.

I believe so... as a matter of fact I'm pretty sure that the Lancia
Integrale that won the World Rallye championship 5 years in a row had
three LSDs.... one front, one back and one in the middle of the car to
distribute power to front or rear axle. BTW the Integrale is so far the
only car I've driven I really thought was more amazing than a Miata...
key word is *more amazing* not *more powerful* (I've driven plenty of
more powerful, better handling cars).
