day off from camp today. took the petaluma-marshall road from walker creek
ranch to marshall. headed north up hwy 1. great road! i am amazed at the
number and frequency of geography changes along that road. lots of great
twisties. beautiful views. ran into a small detour section not far from
fort ross. the detour took us up a twisty 18 percent grade then back down.
awesome!! was really glad the highway had been washed out and forced the
detour. never would have found that road on my own.
continued north to the hwy 128 junction then headed inland through a
redwood grove... double awesome!! great road!! continued through anderson
valley (stopped to taste a bit of wine) then kept on 128 through to 101.
the last bit of 128 was great. twisty mountain road. long sequences of
beautifully banked left and rights. tango got a great work out. so much
so that she didn't even complain about riding the 101 back to petaluma.
all in all a wonderful drive. thanks to dans for recommending the trip up
hwy 1.
heading to san francisco on friday morning after the camp. will be joined
by my wife. hope to run into some listers on the weekend if you're in
town. i'll be at the westin st. francis on friday and saturday night.
give us a ring at the hotel or on the cell at (604) 671-2027.
