Hi Lou,
I'm not sure if you mean specifically in a '99 or just the limiter in
general, so...
It doesn't really sound destructive. I've done this a few times already.
When you hit the limiter, the power drops way down, but the RPMs don't
fall off. If you're going fast enough, it will tilt you forward in the
seat. You should definitely do this to see what it's like. The first
time is scary, but after a few times it's not a big deal (although that
doesn't mean that I would do it routinely). It occurs at 7200 RPM (in a
'96). It definitely helps you get good at shifting right at 7000 :)
