My husband and I were recently on vacation in Las Vegas. We have been
automobile hunting for a few months and decided to check out the two
miata dealers in Las Vegas.
Well, we found the car of our dreams at Fletcher Jones Mazda on S.
Rancho Dr. It was a 1995 automatic miata with a hardtop and only 8000
miles. We immediately were very interested and after 3 trips to the
dealer, had agreed on a price, an interest rate, had a credit check and
settled on a monthly payment. We had given the dealership a $500.00
deposit. They had even detailed the car in anticipation of us picking
it up.
When we went back to sign the contract and show the car to my husband's
father who lives in Las Vegas, the sales manager raised the interest
rate by 2 points to 11.9, and had added $1,000 to the price of the car
on the paperwork.
He either had someone else to buy the car for more money than we had
agreed to, or he figured that I loved the car SO much that my husband
would pay any amount to make me happy.
Needless to say, we did not buy the car and my vacation was ruined.
I just want people to know about this unethical dealership and stay
away.
I have contacted both the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs
and they have a long list of complaints against this mazda dealership.
Fletcher Jones is a big deal and owns many dealerships and he probably
runs them all the same way.
I will end up with my miata, it just won't be that one.
