First it's not a cable it's a hose, silicone or rubber,
normally neither the gauge nor the turbo comes with
it, you buy your own, they are sold by the foot at the
speedshop you buy your gauge. About $1/ft.

 And it's mechanical right? So exactly where does the

Yes it's mechanical, and it get's it's signal from a vaccum
source, the best is at the end of the intake plenum.
A common place to hook-up would be to T-in to the
fuel pressure regulator(fpr) hose, that is between the
plenum and the fpr.
