I have contacted both the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs
and they have a long list of complaints against this mazda dealership.
Fletcher Jones is a big deal and owns many dealerships and he probably
runs them all the same way. >>
I have a story to share also:
This past Friday I dropped off my Miata at Ed Napleton Mazda in Oak Lawn
Illinois (Chicago area). All I needed was for them to remove a broken lug
nut, and replace the stud. When I picked it up that evening, my car had 38
additional miles on it!!!!!!
To make matters worse, mine is not a daily driver, and was set-up for a race
on Sat. It has a turbo, etc. The timming was advanced, but I had not yet
boosted the octane, so any hot-rodding the jerk(s) did probably resulted in
detonation! Man, was I hot!!!
The service manager was on vaccation, so I asked to see the G.M. Get this...
He didn't come out of his office to talk to me faca-to-face, instead, he sent
the cashier out to tell me that I probably just wrote down the number wrong!!!
I found my way back to his office - introduced myself as a Windy City Miata
Club member and described how at each meeting, members get up and share
thoughts on various topics...like service! I invited him to the meeting to
confirm what I would be telling the club. Suddenly, he seemed to remember
something about customer service and started babbling, but I never heard an
apology. He said someone would give me a call on Monday - Yeah, whatever. Too
bad our next meeting isn't sooner - I want to tell this story while I'm still
good 'n angry.
Lesson: Always let THEM know that YOU know how many miles are on the car.
