Let your feelings choose.
Either way you'll get a great car. There are some people who prefer
the old ones. Others prefer the new ones. The old one's have prooven
to be very reliable. So no problem here with having to work on them.
Try them. After driving a new and an old one, you know for sure what
is the right decision for you.
Good luck and be carefull - I've heard of men don't giving the Miata
back to their wifes after having driven them :-)
