Sorry to hear of your unhappy experience. I doubt you're anywhere near
Utah, but I can highly recommend Doug Smith Mazda in Provo, Utah. This
dealership has won Mazda's Customer Satisfaction Award (or whatever it's
called) for several years running. Less than 3% of Mazda dealerships
qualify for this award. They were 100% honest, went out of their way to
help me buy/lease a Miata, went out of their way to help me sell my Camry
before leasing the Miata, etc. They even sent their customers who were
interested in my Camry directly to me.
Even today, eleven months after the transaction, when I walk into the
dealership for whatever reason, they recognize me and call me by name. I
feel like a welcomed friend when I go there, rather than like unsuspecting
prey, as I felt whenever I walked into the Toyota dealership where I
purchased four cars over a 15-year period.
When I purchase my next vehicle, Miata or not, it will be difficult to buy
from any other dealer. They have earned my appreciation and respect, a
rare situation in the automotive industry. And Mazda has impressed me with
their concern for my satisfaction. I have received more literature from
Mazda concerning my *satisfaction* in the past eleven months than I
received from Toyota in twelve years. I still like Toyotas, but Mazda has
impressed me. I think a 626 or a Milennia might look good in the garage
next to the Miata!
For what it's worth.
