YEEEEE HAWWWWW!  Grad school is finally over for the summer!!  Ok, I've got
that out of my system now :-)

I was told the Borla was a good bit lighter than the OEM system so I checked
during my swap last Friday.  The Borla cat-back weighed in at 17lbs while
the OEM system came in at 25lbs.
Sound? - I've heard a number of Borla, JR, and stock systems at Windy City
Miata autoxes so I knew what to expect.  I seem to like the Borla sound over
the JR (perhaps it's also a function of $$$ spent as well?).  Personally,
I'd like the Borla to be a little louder especially off throttle (like my
straight pipe).  Perhaps with time it will.
Highway drone?  Yes.  Is it annoying?  Yes, but not too bad.  However, I ran
my straight pipe for a week before putting on the Borla and it's really
really annoying on highways, but sounds awesome around town :-)  I commute 4
straight hours to school on Sundays and 4 back home on Thursday.  The open
pipe makes you really appreciate the softness of the Borla <g>.
Performance gain?  I believe so.  Top end is more free vs. OEM but not as
free as the straight.  I autoxed with the Borla last Sat and Sun and my
times were about where they usually are compared with the FTD.  I hope to
get some time to hook my laptop up to the car to measure performance gains.
If anyone is dynoing there car in the Milwaukee/Chicago area let me know.
Maybe we can go in together and split the cost.
Easy install?  Yes...well it should be.  Just make SURE you have a reputable
shop do the 02 sensor mod or do it yourself and explicitly mark where it
should go...also have them run a 18mm thread chaser after they weld it in.
