Hi Jaime
I've been putting my garage door remotes under the dash on all my cars
for years. '78 Accord, '83 Accord, '91 BRG, and '95 Sidekick. Never
bothered removing dash. I just tuck the remote into a suitable place.
Never had one fall out. I install a miniature jack in the remote case
and wire it to the pushbutton circuit in the unit. The other side of the
plug is wired to a push button I install in a suitable place. For our
Miata I used the blank access cover on the left side of the tunnel. If
the batteries in the remote need replacing I just unplug the jack and
pull out the remote. To date I have never replaced a battery. I got the
miniature connectors and pushbuttons from Radio Shack. Need more
details?
