Hi to anyone interested,

Back from the Gap and it was a blast. Thanks to Doc and Scott. I am sure all
of those who attended appreciate their efforts. If you haven't seen 141
Miatas in one place.... well.. you have to see it to appreciate it. Not all
shapes and sizes, but all sorts of colors. Lots of modifications making them
all a bit unique.

Met some nice folks and all weekend, everywhere you drove... Miatae.....
hands waving, lights flashing, horns sounding hello... grins on faces. It
was great!!!!!

Some of the most beautiful country in the eastern US and also some of the
best roads. I did not know what curvy was until I drove the dragon. Stayed
in Townsend, Tennessee and had to drive the Gap to make the lodge. Ten times
and everytime, it seemed liked the first. I never did learn the road... too
busy concentrating on the next curve coming up.

At places, if you are at just the right speed, it is almost like
dancing..... into a curve... count one.. two.. three... and you are throwing
your car into the next..... swinging from side to side... rthymically....
good feeling, but just when you start to feel comfortable, the dragon throws
something new at you.

I learned a lot about the Miata's handling at the Gap. The dang thing
handles better than I am capable of driving it at the moment. Really
surprised me... sort of felt like it was on rails. Tight and sweet. And the
sound of the engine.... ahhhh... music to my ears.

As I was leaving Sunday AM, I debated whether to drive the dragon one last
time or take another route back to GA... after two full days of curves in
Scooter's seat, I wondered if I would enjoy it. I decided to take the plunge
once again and..... well.... what can I say? The dang road is just fun to
drive.

Found some great roads on the drive back to Atlanta too... in northern GA.,
already planning some day trips to revisit those when I am more able to
appreciate them.

If you haven't ridden the dragon.... do it... it was great!

DC and Scooter
