Ahh, grasshopper, life is never that simple.

The SO, as co-financer of the proposed rollerskate, is entitled to a 
say in this matter, as I have already over-ruled several meek 
expressed desires on his part to purchase (dare I say it)  a Taurus.

Seems said Taurus is likely to carry more cargo, and is less likely 
to get totally squished in accidents. Mere bagatelles, I say; it's MY 
turn for a toy.
