During idling, oil pressure is at 30psi, normal revving around 60 psi climing to near 90 psi during hard acceleration and high revving.

High revving never reaches 45000 rpm though, as that would probably lead to oil all over the outside of the engine !!!

Sorry don't have at hand immediately the conversion from psi to kg/cm2, but basically my dial is spilt into graduations of 0, 30, 60 and 90 psi (max). Hopefully this helps

Good day to all.

I just picked up a Mariner Blue 90 Miata with 145,000kms (or 80,000 mi) on
it. It was extremely well maintained and the engine got regular shampoos -
looks and drives great. The timing belt was replaced at 110K kms and the
Idle Speed Control valve was also replaced a month ago (Boy, is that gizmo
expensive or what ?) at reputable Mazda dealer in the city.

I have a question regarding the oil pressure gauge, where should it normally
sit ? At idle speed ? Revving at 45000RPM ? Since I have the Canadian
model, the gauge reads from 0 to 6 or 8 kg/cm2. I could not find any
references in the owner's manual....
