Add $400 ( I think) to whatever the license fee is for the first year for
bringing in a Non-California CERTIFIED car. If you have a sticker under the
hood that says California Certified then you don't pay. Until the '99 cars
ALL Miatas sold in the US were the same specification, but only certain
ones destined for California dealers were CERTIFIED as meeting California
emissions standards. Just a sticker and the VIN registered with the
California DMV. Starting with the '99s, there IS a difference.
