It is simple, BMW took the Miata and made it look ugly (IMHO). Honda took
the Z3 and made it look beautiful. The evolution of design does not always
progress forward.

Thank you for the photos. The car is quite beautiful and I am really eager
to
try one.
There are some things that I would prefer not to see such as digital
instrumentation, but I am one who still longs for chronometric tachs, and at
least Honda realized that the tach was the most important instrument.
It definitely does not look for the detail of its body design to the
"classic"
'50's-'60's sports car and as such will cause some dismay, but I remember
the
hullabaloo when MG and Jaguar abandoned the classic TF-1500 and XK-140/150
and
introduced the MGA and the E-Type. New is not always appreciated (an
understatement).
Yes I find the headlight treatment a bit overdone, but so were several Alfas
and pre WWII Saoutcheck(sp?) designs which are now greatly appreciated.
Mechanical specs seem impressive and innovative.
How will this translate in the final product? Time will tell, but in the
meantime, bravo Honda, for at least giving a good try at a real sportscar.
