I am using the Racing Beat oversized pulleys for the alternator and water
pump, which do the same thing. I have not had any problems with them at all.
No undercharging the battery or over heating the water.

Has anyone tried using an underdrive crank pulley on the Miata?
Unorthodox Racing (http://www.unorthodoxracing.com/specials.html) has
them on sale for $110 (1.6L) and $120 (1.8L). Those that tried them,
did/do you like it? The product sounds like it makes sense, reducing
the revolutions and weight...those stock things are heavy. They also
list a pulley for just the alternator and water pump belt, but after
talking to them, they are not planning on producing it...yet. I was
told the addition of the A/C pulley on the aluminum underdrive pulley is
negligible. Any thoughts?

No affiliation with Unorthod... yadda, yadda, yadda.
