Scott,
Also produced (Exterior/Interior):
* 3 Yellow/Pink (each with different wheels)
* Red/Tan (special 1992 Getty promo item w/ Getty logo)
* Sparkle Green/Orange (special promo item)
* Orange/Pink (1994 G-Force Set)
The most rare:
Zamac - Bare metal with clear coat. Only available at the convention.
Only 500 produced. No more ever to be made.
Each of these (plus most of the ones you list) have been available on and
off for the last several months at eBay. Most go for $5-$10. The Zamac's
are selling for $20-$30!!!
eBay is a good source for Miata models. I've purchased several there in
recent weeks.
Other Miata models I recently aquired (through a friend that picked them up
for me in his World Travels):
* Epoch MTech 1/43 scale metal 1999 Miata. Mine is Red/Black (other colors
available). Right-hand drive. Fantastic detail... painted Mazda logo on
front, painted tailights, great looking wheels, small windblocker, etc.).
Doors open. Complete with plastic display case. Came from Japan. 1,800
yen.
* Tomy/Tomica 1/57 scale metal M1 Miata. Friend brought back a Green/Tan
from Japan (I had previous purchased a Red/Black on eBay). RH drive. Good
detail (better than a HW), no moving parts (other than the wheels). About
300 yen.
* Wiking 1/87 scale plastic M1 Miata. Three colors (that I have):
Red/Black, Dark Blue/Black, Green/Black. Phenomenal detail for the size.
Great wheels! These came from Germany. Similar to the Herpas.
* Takara HG Eunos Roadster. Plastic. Available in several colors. All of
the M1s have their tops up. I have: Purple/Gold top, Blue/Black top,
Black/Black top. The M2 ('99) I have is the only one with top down:
Gold/Black interior. These aren't to scale. (Too tall and wide for their
length). They're about 2/3 the length of a HW. They are spring loaded.
Roll them backwards for a short distance and then let go. They take off
like a Mega Monster Miata! Came from Japan. About 300 yen.
I'm still looking to get my hands on a Road Champs Flip-Top Miata. It's
about the only "type" missing from my collection. These were widely
available back in the early '90s. $3 at Target, K-mart, etc. Now, you
can't find them anywhere. If anyone has one they would be willing to part
with (especially if it is Red), please let me know.
Also... one other request... Once upon a time, one of the list members
was maintaining a web page about all of the Miata models. I can't find it
anywhere. Can't find a reference to it on Miata.net either. Has it gone
away?
Thanks!
