Just a suggestion for those who want a national (international) access ISP
.. you /can/ have it all ... a local ISP and access from anywhere in the
world (for those who think the US /is/ the world ... I really mean 'across
the globe' <bg>).  Go to www.ipass.com and find a provider local to you to
sign up with OR get your local ISP to sign up for the service.  Using ipass,
you can access the net from anywhere in the world (practically) for a
nominal per use fee.  <disclaimer to follow> I don't have anything to do
with ipass or ISPs in general blah, blah, blah ... just responding, because
I see this concern raised periodically. FWIW
