Two of my friends have these "cheap brand" lights on their cars. I on the
other hand had a set of PIAA 1000 ion lights on my old 626. Both of my
friends had either one or both bulbs burn out within 6 months!!! The wiring
harness has blown of one of their sets and the switch broke on the other.
My PIAAs have been on that car for 2 years now (brother's car now) and all
the parts (bulbs, lenses, housings, switch, relay...etc) are in like new
condition. I guess you get what you pay for. The output is also by far
better than the cheapos as well. BUT.....I paid $200 two years ago for my
lights, they paid $50 per set for theirs. So I guess it depends on your own
preference for trouble free operation Vs. price. It also depends on whether
you want the lights for other people to see you better, or for YOU to see
better. When I go to get some fogs for my Miata, I will most likely get a
set of PIAA 4" round driving pattern "super white" lights (don't know model
# of the top of my head). They list for around $190 but a guy I work with
can get PIAA products for almost half price (PIAA executives stay at the
hotel where I work) so it's not such a hit to the wallet.
Just my $0.02
