Miatas with stock 14x6  wheels run 225/50 14 R1's if they can get them.  But
since the G-Force is currently non-existent in that size you are limited to
a 205/55 14 - which you could reasonably choose from BFG or Kumho or Hoosier
or Toyo or about anything. Check out tire racks website.

I don't recall if you can still get steel wheels on a 99, if so they will be
5.5" wide and in which case you are limited to a 205/55 - as you would be
with your 91A.
Note that a 14" wheel on a 99 is going to be an unusual autox setup as the
hotshoes will have the 15" wheels on the Sport model. You would probably do
well to talk to people running M1's with the 14" wheels.

Last time I checked (3 weeks ago) Tire Rack still had 225/50 14 R1's.
