Here´s something else on this issue that I think was not posted yet: When I got
my CAI in 1995, I did quite extensive temp measurements with the stock setup
and the CAI. While the CAI feeds your engine with air that is very close to
ambient temps at any moderate cruising speed, stop and go in town on a hot
day is very different. In that case, the JR CAI is a HAI, as the hot air from the
radiator goes up and into the intake whenever your car stands or crawls. IIRC,
peak temps under these conditions were just as high or even higher than at the
stock intake point.
So maybe the JR CAI is not the thing to get if you are into stoplight races (not
to say that you are, Jyri ...).
