Installation of any Shock Tower Brace is a one hammer task on the Binford
Scale. Remover two easy to get to nuts place the mounts in position and
reapply the nuts to torque 25 ftlbs if memory serves. All that's left is to
tighten the cross bar.
Installation of the RB K&N filter (just did one albeit not a 99) is a 1.5
hammer task on the Binford Scale. However, it's a very intuitive
installation and the pictures and directions are very adequate.
If you are going to install the latter, the bar must be off the car to do
so.... at least it will be tons easier with it off.... I suppose there are
some who would try to do it without removing the bar. :)
Both these tasks are way easier than removing the tow hooks (teeth) from a
miata :)
