The Kat and the Fox, Chelli, Drew and I join in wishing all of our friends a
great New Year ahead, replete with deep personal satisfaction achieved with a
minimum of "struggling".

On which subject I would like to bring up a Buddhist maxim (one I wish I
remembered to apply to my own life when most needed, at least as well as I
understand its value <g>)
:
"Pain is inevitable but suffering is a choice"

I wish for all of us a year where our dreams and aspirations are not stifled
by our necessary practical choices, but where both exist in harmony, thus
creating a wonderful synergy where the paying of the bills and wondersome
flights of fancy will take nothing from each other and both prose and poetry
will enrich our lives. 

Which calls to memory the following quote from Samuel Coleridge:

"From my early reading of Fairy Tales and Genii etc.., my mind has been
habituated to the Vast and I never regarded my senses in any way as the
criteria of my beliefs. I regulated all my creeds by my conceptions and not by
my sight, even at that age. 

"Should children be permitted to read romance and relations of giants and
magicians and genii? I know all that has been said against it; but I have
formed my faith in the affirmative.I know of no other way of giving the mind
the love of the Great and the Whole."

I wish all of us the very best and a lively awareness of all our blessings as
we dream of the perfect ride on the perfect road in the perfect weather and in
perfect company.
