Well, the snow hadn't hit STL NY Eve yet, but after playing in a band for
the first 2/3 of my life, I swore when that gig was finished, I'd NEVER go
out on NYE again!!!  Went to Blockbuster and loaded up on movies, fixed a
steak on a grate in the fireplace, kicked back and watched Titanic and
cracked a bottle of champagne at the appointed hour.  
Spent yesterday working on a website for Carol and I...which is not ready
for primetime yet...and catching up on the paper, recent editions of Road &
Track, Racer, Autoweek and Grassroots Motorsports that had been piling up.
My daughter gave me a copy of Tom Clancy's new book, which is about 2"
thick...so I guess I'm set.  The inventory shows enough bourbon and patches
(yes, I'm <trying> to quit smoking, too) and food to see us through, so
guess we're here to stay for the weekend.
When I took the videos back yesterday (before the snow really got nasty),
there was a veritable landrush at Blockbuster...checkout lines several
people deep, with other customers grabbing the returns before we could drop
them in the return chute. 
Happy New Year...it's gotta get better!
