I have a used early generation Jackson CAI sitting in my garage waiting to
be installed on the new Yellow.  The input side measures 2 11/16" with my
trusty plastic micrometer.  It is probably not perfectly accurate but it
definitely accurate enough for me to tell you it is NOT 3" in diameter.  It
is also not a polished finish.
