As much as I would like to drive Road Atlanta that price is way out of line
with
other track events in this area. I'm not saying anything about Aaron's
pricing as
it may cost more to rent the track but when I can drive 2 days at Roebling
Road for
160 bucks I have to pass on Road Atlanta. When you figure travel, rooms,
food and
track fees Road Atlanta would cost me over 1000 bucks for both of us to
drive. I
can do Roebling for under 500. If the cost could be gotten under control I
would
love to attend but those prices are out of line for this area.

* I understand the concerns over pricing...but here's the deal...Road Atlanta
only has that weekend available...weekends cost $2500 a day more than a
weekday...figure in $10 million dollar insurance (2 days worth), 2 days of
ambulance/EMT's, 2 days woth of corner workers, 2 days of lunch, 2 days of
renting Portapotties (yup, gotta rent them otherwise they'll be locked up), 2
days rental of a class room facility...I think you get the idea.. There is no
money to be made here..I do this for fun!!! Road Atlanta is one of my favorite
road courses...and it's definately better than Roebling Road, not to say that
Roebling isn't a good course, but it's not up to the caliber of Road
Atlanta....not sniping, just the facts!!! I've had a lot of people say, "when
are you gonna do a track event out in the east?", well I'm doing one now...I
have put up the $'s..now it's up to those people that wanted a track event in
the east to step up to the plate and sign up....and a lot of people have I'm
happy to say!!!
I understand about the $ situation...and I wish I could make the track day
free for all!!!...but my bank book says differently. I make zero $'s out of
the event....and it's a matter of finding the right place at the right time.
If you can't make the event, I'm sorry, you'll be missing a good time, but on
the other hand....sometimes you just have to take advantage of where and when
and go with it....Roebling Road was not an option....but when Road Atlanta
told me I could have the only available date...I had to take it!!! I am not
doing all this alone as there are several people that have volunteered to help
me set things up as I'm 3,000 miles away in California!!! ... and I really
appreciate everyone's support in helping me make this happen. When I
subscribed to MCA, this is what I envisioned that MCA would do (track events
etc..ala PCA) and since they didn't come through...I stopped whinning and took
up the ball. So far things have gone really good....push, pull or get out of
the way I always say...LOL..!!!
Soap box mode off now...LOL..!!!
Hope to see ya there!!!
