YES!!! I think that's the clue. Frankenstein bolts. M1 hard top kit
doesn't have them, the M2 hard top kit does.
When I ordered my hard top, it came with a "kit" inside the main box that
contained the Frankenstein bolts, side latches, new plastic side panels and
some other small parts. I am assuming that if you purchased a M1 top, it
would not have these bolts in the "kit" since the M1s already have the
bolts. That is why the M2 top is that $80 more expensive too.
I think the top is a good match, even though Mazda didn't make a lot of
changes. Maybe they figured the top "worked" well with the new design and
only made minor modifications.
