i don't agree that autocrossing is 98% driver.

while driving skill is certainly more important than the car itself, all
things equal between two drivers, the '99 has more low end torque and
greater power overall.  not by much, mind you, but when you're talking
about tenths of a second between first and 4th place, its the car.  this
past weekend at Texas A&M, 1.7 seconds separated first from SEVENTH.
first place car?  a '99.  7th place car?  a 90 driven by a VERY experienced
autocrosser.

also, '99s are popping up all over the place in the autocross world and
solo world.  the '99s are doing VERY well in SoloII and they're still
running on stock shocks!  just *wait* until the Konis and Tokicos come out
for the '99....
