Subject:Batteries, a reason to avoid wet cells in our trunks.

List,

I just thought of an interesting side point about our factory Panasonic
batteries. My '93 still has the original Panasonic in it. And it spent over
an hour upside down when I rolled my car. While it was upside down, it was
run completely dead because all the lights and the flashers were left on to
help keep the car from getting run over by the trucks on the highway since it
was sitting in the middle of the road at 3:30 am. The next day, I took the
battery home and put it on a 2 amp trickle charge for 24 hours. To this day,
it works just as good as it ever did. If it was a wet cell, it would have
been toast. Not to mention the incredible mess it would have made of the
inside of my trunk while it was upside down. It's not really something that
most of us think about. But the damage that could have been caused by a wet
cell battery back there might have made the difference of whether the car was
salvageable or not. It was a wash as it was. I chose to have it fixed, and
I'm very glad that I did.

Just a side point of interest. :)
