I have a similar tear in the fabric around the zipper, not the seam.  I
took it to a shop
and they wanted about $250 to take the top off and patch it, but wouldn't
guarrantee it. This
problem made it almost impossible to use the zipper and was tearing more
fabric everytime I tried.
So I secured some of the oft mentioned 'Gorilla snot' 3M adhesive and
sealed the parameter of the window
permenantly to the top, looks original, and you don't have to unzip teh
back window, okay so you can't
unzip teh back window, but I am hoping for 1 more year out of the top and I
will reward her with a new
blue cloth top, maybe even a glass window, if she's good, what am I saying
Okay for sure she'll get the
glass window.
4 days till the Cleveland Auto show and then 14 more until spring......
