| Subject: | Weird hesitation problem.. any ideas? |
| Date: | Mon, 1 Mar 1999 00:27:09 -0500 |
Hey Miata people!
I'm back on the list after a brief hiatus of not having the miata whilst at
school.
Anyway I drive a 1990 blue 5sp, the only mod is the racing beat intake and
momo wheels.
Can anyone diagnose the following problem:
this usually happens around sharp turns, i'll be comming out of the turn
(after apex) even at a moderate speed, and the car will not respond to the
throttle... if i keep the pedal at a constant point (throttle open) it will
eventually respond to the throttle, sometimes 3 seconds after i'm through the
apex.
Sometimes if I'm on the highway, the car will start hesitating, it will stop
responding to the throttle for a half second, then be fine for a minute, then
it will get more frequent. It is very strange, and there is almost no rhyme
or reason to when it does it - but amazingly, if i pull over and stop the car
then start it - it goes away!
Any ideas? I had the engine and spark plugs checked out by a dealer and its
in great condition....
any loose connections that could cause this? but it doesnt stall the car -
just doesnt respond to the throttle!
Okay thanks!
