Subject:99 dtc trouble codes

Help!  Luna has been giving us fits for three weeks.  She has spent more
time at the dealer than at home.  Trouble is the engine check light
comes on....and stays.  Dealer says it always shows a problem in the EGR
circuits.  They change one thing each time and the problem keeps coming
back (4 times).  So....can you check the codes on the 99 like the
pre-OBDII computers.  I find nothing in the shop manual on how to do
it.  I've spent more time on the road so I want to do some checking
myself.  Thanks
