Are you serious?????  Gas prices are lower than they've been for years, and
as a result everyone is buying gas-hogging vehicles like SUVs and using gas
like it's an infinitely renewable resource.  One nice thing about the fuel
crisis in the 70's was that it forced automakers to create more efficient
engines. Unfortunately, many of those lessons are being unlearned as quickly
as we learned 'em 20 years ago.

That new hugomungous bigger than a Suburban SUV Ford is releasing -- a
reported 6 *SIX*   SSSSSSIIIIIIIXXXXX  MPG in the city.  Sorry, but I find
that a disgusting display of excess and ecological idiocy, and I've *never*
been accused of being crunchy in the slightest.

Stop whining and be glad you don't pay European gas prices...
