I was out cruising around apartment hunting yesterday, beautiful clear day,
72 degrees, driving between the LIE and the Southern State through West
Islip, minding my own business, not looking for trouble, when the guy next
to me at the light decides he wants to race.  Maybe it was the top down red
car, maybe it was the exhaust fumes, but he wanted to go.  I didn't even
realize he was thinking about it until I had pulled out from the light and
heard him winding out the engine hard.  OK say I, what the heck, and I step
on it, wind it out, shift at 6800 and wind it out some more.  He's doing
his best, but by the end of 3rd I've got him by a good margin.  Yep,
another kill for the mighty 1.6 litre NA Miata...

The punch line?

He was driving a Ford Windstar :D   Cracked me up!  At about 70 I decided
that neither one of us needed a ticket and so I backed out of it, looked
over and motioned him by with an "after you" jesture.  He responded with a
"I had to try" shrug and a big grin.  Maybe he's got a Miata in the garage
and just missed it on such a nice day, maybe it was the exhaust fumes... 
It was kinda fun.
