Hi Everyone,

After Norman was kind enough yesterday to mention my own "Better Wheels" =
project some asked if I could post an update.  Here it is.....

We now have the first 15 inch prototypes done (with 16 inchers to follow =
later).  As posted by someone else, the prototypes weigh in at 8.5 =
pounds for the 15x6.5 size and 9.9 pounds for the 15x7 size.  However, =
the final styling decisions are not yet complete and these weights may =
change some.  The beauty of the forging process is that it allows the =
creation of wheels that are far lighter and yet also stronger than their =
cast relatives.  The final product will easily exceed the relevant =
strength tests.  Still looking at July for production and still no word =
on price at this time. =20

BTW, a posting suggested sending e-mail to Fernando at IFG for more =
info.  Actually, Fernando is in his fourth day of employment as the =
marketing guy at IFG, not quite up to speed yet on the Miata project, =
and I have been asked to field the questions so please feel free to send =
questions my way.
