FWIW:
I too have been a State Farm policy holder for more than 25 years (though
not continuous as they didn't have much of a presence in Connecticut). And
had VERY good service... most of those years.
In the last two years though, I've had two incidents... one where I
pulled into a gravel parking lot to turn around but unfortunately the power
company had it cabled off with an unmarked unflagged guy wire (illegal as
hell in most states that I know) - they paid and jacked my rates. Didn't
say squat to the power company... and a second where my son hit some ice
and slid off the road. Car was undamaged... until the tow truck driver
decided it would be cooler to pull it out sideways rather than straight out
(which WAS possible). They paid, haven't done squat to the tow truck
driver! Guess who will pay MORE... funny I thought that was what the
original premium was for, silly me.
So.... !!

Eric,
Whoa.... Let's not go off the deep end here, at least not yet. We have
only heard Justin's side. Let's here State Farm's side as well. I'm sure
that what Justin said is true but the agent may need to readjust his report
to the home office. I have been a State Farm policy holder for over 25
years and never had any issues with them. I'm sure there is some
misunderstanding or missing information that can easily be rectified. I
have no personal gain in this and I don't know Justin from Adam, other than
he has a Miata and lives in Philadelphia. I also don't know the agent. I
do know the company and this certainly does not sound like the State Farm
that I do business with.
