  Well, I've never had any problem polishing out cone blood and I collect 
more than my share!  If regular wax doesn't do it I use some DuPont (the fine 
folks who gave us Napalm) rubbing compound, followed by a re-wax.  Maybe 
you're not carrying a thick enough coat of wax into the corner.
  Back in the days before clearcoat (and my 90 ain't got none) we relied on a 
weekly application of hand rubbed wax to fend of most environmental hazards.  
Every couple of months it's necessary to strip to the paint (a typical 
pressure wash does a fair job) and re-wax to avoid yellowing.
  Space age polymers tolerate more laziness, but there's nothing like good 
old soft wax to absorb road and track indignities.
