I don't own a changer, but minidiscs are great tools, my brother owns a
fullsize unit that can input names, dates, etc.  and a R55 recordable (the
new ones), and gave me his old portable player for earning Eagle Scout.
They pretty much don't skip at all.  My advice, buy a full size unit and a
changer for the trunk, smarter than the portable unless you do field
recordings
