If you accidentally hit the "resume speed" button while cruise is still
on but you've forgotten about it, the results can be ... unfortunate.

The car accelerates like mad trying to get back up to whatever it was
last set at, causing much confusion before you finally figure it out.

Some systems will not turn on unless they're above some limit, like 20
or 30mph, but that's still not enough to keep from getting a nasty
surprise.

I suspect some unintended acceleration incidents are because the cruise
control was left on and the driver inadverdently hit "resume".
