On my '94, the oil takes about 2-3 times long to reach operating
temperature as the coolant, as evidenced by the oil pressure at idle
decreasing from 60 psi to 25. I try to keep the rpm under 4000 until that
point. On '95 and later Miatas, you can use your clock and estimate when
it'll be warm, or you can retrofit the earlier oil pressure gauge to
replace your idiot needle, and know for sure.
